Adnan Hyder
Senior Associate Dean for Research

Dr. Hyder is Senior Associate Dean for Research & Professor of Global Health, Milken Institute School of Public Health. He is a global leader in injury, disability, and health systems; has worked in over 90 countries over the past 20 years; and has led several multi-million-dollar projects worldwide. He has thorough knowledge of Africa and strong Africa-wide network, excellent management skills, proven track record in public health, acknowledged methodological knowledge, and considerable diplomatic experience to lead EPIC. He is well known to UN agencies and governments in Africa; and has medical (MD), public health (MPH) and health systems training (PhD). Dr. Hyder received the C. Everett Koop Medal of Distinction from global organization Safe Kids Worldwide for his work to prevent childhood injuries in July 2019.
Nino Paichadze

Dr. Paichadze is Assistant Research Professor in the Department of Global Health. She has over a decade of academic and professional experience encompassing medicine and public health with a particular focus on research and training for better prevention of and response to chronic conditions and injuries. A medical doctor and internist with a subspecialty in endocrinology, she completed pre-MBA training and worked over five years managing international programs. Her research focuses on noncommunicable diseases (NCDs), injury prevention, digital health and capacity building in low- and middle-income countries. Through numerous collaborations she has sought to develop data-driven solutions to urgent public health challenges. She also worked with the WHO and engaged with the global road safety community through the United Nations Road Safety Collaboration (UNRSC) network. She supported the UNRSC M&E Project Group in monitoring progress of the Decade of Action for Road Safety in reducing the number of road traffic deaths and injuries globally by 2020.
James Tielsch

Dr. Tielsch is Professor and Chair, Department of Global Health and a global leader in epidemiologic research and statistical surveys. He has over 30 years of experience applying advanced research methods to address public health problems such as blindness, maternal diseases, and child health both in the United States and low-middle-income countries. He has developed innovative methods to detect diseases, count children, enumerate households, and study environmental factors in resource poor contexts. Dr. Tielsch has led multi-million dollar projects across multiple countries, directed major research studies and led global health enterprises at both Johns Hopkins and George Washington universities.
Anuj Mehrotra
Dean
George Washington University School of Business
Dr. Mehrotra is Dean of the GW School of Business, he has decades of experience in business, operations management, and markets around the world, and brings the entire business, marketing and finance community at GW to the project. He is an expert on large-scale optimization of business processes and interdisciplinary applications including health; he has also developed specialized methods for public engagement, asset management, and assessing delivery services. Dr. Mehrotra has led major projects to help maximize benefit from limited resources including in the developing world; and will guide EPIC through development and delivery phases with a special focus on markets for assistive devices.
